General Electric engineers started making Lab Grown Diamonds back in the 1950’s. The quality back then was industrial quality. Meaning the only use for the lab grown diamond, was in the use for cutting tools or drill bits.
Then in 2015, the Gem Quality Lab Grown Diamond was perfected. Finally Jewelry store quality.
Lab Grown Diamonds have the same crystal structure, chemical composition, optical properties, physical properties, hardness and brilliance of a Mined diamond. Lab grown diamonds are cut and graded the same way as Mined diamonds. Lab Grown diamonds and Mined both have the same type of inclusions. The only big difference, between a Lab Grown Diamond and a Mined Diamond, is the price. Lab Grown diamonds are approximately 1/4 price of earth Mined diamonds. ( with same quality ).
